What is CBD?

CBD is one of many natural compounds derived from the cannabis plant species which includes industrial hemp.

CBD

is non-intoxicating
influences many body functions
acts directly on the human endocannabinoid system (ECS)

What is the Endocannabinoid
System (ECS) and cannabinoids?

The ECS helps us eat, sleep, relax, focus and protect our bodies from harm. There are ECS receptors in the brain, liver, intestines, pancreas ovaries, bone cells and elsewhere. Our bodies produce billions of endocannabinoids daily, but they fade quickly because certain enzymes destroy them. CBD blocks these enzymes, allowing the beneficial compounds to linger. Lessened anxiety and better focus, help with recovery from inflammation and more restful sleep without harsh side effects are a few of the benefits reported by users of hemp.

Why is hemp-derived CBD
different?

Hemp is of the plant species cannabis. Hemp stems have been used for centuries for industrial purposes such as making rope, twine and other products.  The flowers and leaves of the hemp plant contain numerous healthy and beneficial compounds called cannabinoids. These cannabinoids work in harmony with compounds our bodies make called endocannabinoids.  Our endocannabinoid system helps us eat, sleep, relax, focus, recover and heal.  Cannabinoids or CBD bind to receptors in the body to enhance the performance of these functions.

Hemp and marijuana are both Cannabis. Hemp is Cannabis sativa, and marijuana is either Cannabis sativa or Cannabis indica. Hemp is simply the common and legal term for cannabis that contains less than .3% THC, and marijuana is the common and legal term for cannabis that contains more than .3% THC.

At TWINE CBD we have taken further steps to remove all THC making our products 100% THC FREE!
